100% Gamay, Beaujolais-Villlages.
A young Gamay, in bottle since December 8th so definetly a grower. Also lovely when you open it up in a decanter. Direct pressing of whole grapes, 10 days whole bunch maceration. Young juice, with a hint of "pottertjes" ( Dutch strong fresh liquorice ) with a bit more structure. The wine is fermented naturally.
Ten days whole bunch maceration, then aged in concrete for 9 months before bottling without additions, filtration or fining.
The vineyards are 75 years old on soils of granite & sand, just outside of the Brouilly appellation. Ten days whole bunch maceration, then aged in concrete for 9 months before bottling without additions, filtration or fining.

Blondin - Charpenay '19
Victor Blondin didn’t start off his career in winemaking but we are certainly glad his path led him there. After pursuing a doctorate in pharmaceuticals, Victor decided on a big change and decided to take his cousin, the youngest in a long lineage of winemakers, up on an offer to take over some vines in Saint-Etienne des Oullieres, not far from Mont Brouilly.Situated at the foot of Mount Brouilly, Victor Blondin, has five hectares on three main terroirs with some vines almost 100 years old. Gamay planted in goblet and a small, prized parcel of Chardonnay. Extremely fastidious and hard-working in the vineyard, he uses natural grassing, all the parcels benefit from a varied fauna and flora that guarantee a biological balance of the soil. Such an environment, rich in microorganisms, offers a vigorous natural defense of the vines. He has increasingly been inspired by the natural winemakers he has met in Beaujolais and was certified organic in 2018 and stopped adding sulfites in 2018. Victor farms on these granite soils producing wines of energy, vibrancy with a youthful and playful charm.
