Loire, Anjou, Rablay sur Layon, 100% Golleau, Vin de France.

The Grolleau vines are between 40 and 50 years old. All the tending and are harvest are done by hand. 6 weeks of whole bunch maceration, without punching down, a long but gentle extraction for a creamy and deep Grolleau. Direct pressing by 2 vertical presses: a large and a small one for very gentle pressing for up to 10 hours. Maceration and aging takes place in neutral tanks (fiberglass). A juicy and well constructed "glou glou".

A wine of thirst, the black fruits will be fully  appreciated after 30min of opening or decanting. This wine can be slightly sparkling at the opening. This residual gas protects the wine and thus prevents the addition of sulfur. It just takes a little patience for it to go away. Personally we love the aliveness in the wine. Aerating this wine for about half an hour will allow the wine to regain all its roundness and fruit. Plummy, round black fruits framed by just a little spice and tannin..

Alc. 13%

  • About the Winemaker

Guillaume Noire is a relatively new winemaker who produces natural wines on a small 3ha estate in the Loire Valley. Éléments, a collection of natural wines born in Rablay sur Layon in Anjou, France. He takes an organic approach, observind nature continuously, working all natural and handcrafted. A small scale of 3ha gives a creative freedom with a significant room to explore and experiment in an instinctive manner. With a back ground in Advertising and Paris city life, we are happy he took his creativity to the country side and started expressing it by making these beautifully well constructed wines!
